Casting in Paris: workshops with casting directors
Every month, working casting directors and film directors lead filmed workshops at ForTape studio in Paris 12. A scene, a scene partner, an on-camera take, then the scene worked with their notes. You leave with every take. €60 per session. Workshops are held in French.
How a workshop runs
- 3 to 7 days before: you receive the scene and we put you in touch with your scene partner.
- On the day: you meet the casting director or film director, perform on camera, then work the scene with a reader, taking their notes.
- Afterwards: you receive every take shot during your session.

FAQ
Are these workshops castings for a role?
No. A workshop is training in real conditions: you perform a scene on camera in front of a casting director or film director, then work it again with their notes. It is not an audition for a project.
Does ForTape publish casting calls?
No. ForTape offers workshops, a self-tape studio to record your auditions, and the Role Journey. For casting calls, go through your agent or casting platforms.
How much is a workshop?
€60 per session. The 4-hour group casting workshop with Hervé Jakubowicz (8 seats) is €70.
What should I send before the workshop?
A recent headshot and an up-to-date CV, which the casting director receives before the session. The Dropbox upload link is in your confirmation email.
Can I cancel or change my time slot?
A workshop booking cannot be cancelled. You can change your time slot up to 72 h before, subject to availability.
Where are the workshops held?
At ForTape studio, Red Room: 3 rue Charles Baudelaire, building T, 75012 Paris. Metro Ledru-Rollin (line 8), Bastille (lines 1, 5, 8) or Gare de Lyon (lines 1, 14, RER A and D). Workshops are held in French.
